The new Yale anti snap euro lock meets BS EN 1303:2005 requirements and as a result is awarded the British Standard Kitemark. The Yale cylinder also meets the requirements to achieve the Sold Secure SS312 Diamond Standard making this one tough door lock. The lock cylinder has a built in sacrificial point designed to snap off first leaving very little of the lock cylinder to grasp. Further to this the yale anti snap has grip deflectors which also make it very difficult to grasp the remaining part of the barrel. Probably the most important feature is a hardened steel rod within the lock cylinder which is designed to make the cylinder flex rather than snap leaving the door secure. The Yale cylinder comes with regular style keys and no registration card which makes obtaining duplicate keys easier than the Cisa Astral S and the Avocet ABS. Overall we think the Yale anti snap euro cylinders are one of the best around. We tried to snap one in the workshop using the tools which burglars use to snap lock cylinders and it didnt budge. The forces we used on the lock were massive and we were very surprised just how strong it was.
